Ziva David is an Israeli-born former operative with the Mossad who is now an NCIS Special Agent.
After Caitlin Todd's death at the hands of Ziva's half-brother, Ari Haswari, Ziva joined the Major Case Response Team on a permanent basis, originally assigned to the team as an NCIS/Mossad Liaison Officer, replacing Kate and becoming Anthony DiNozzo, Jr.'s third partner.
Following her rescue from Somalia in the NCIS Season 7 premiere episode, "Truth or Consequences", Ziva resigned from Mossad for good and became an NCIS Special Agent.
